Rules

We will be adhering ourselves to the standard TDSSAA rules from last season.  Please read your hand book from last season (2011-12) to review important rules on innings pitched, game time limits, substitutions/ reinstating players, designated hitters, safety, etc.

Remember that pitchers may only pitch a maximum of 4 innings per day.  This rule will be extended into the playoffs this year.  In other words, over a two game double header, any one pitcher is only allowed to pitch 4 innings.  The limit is per day; not per game.

Regular season games are 1h and 45m in length (drop dead time); and no new inning after 1h and 30m.  Playoff game time limit is 3h (drop dead) and no new inning after 2h and 45m.

All coaches are responsible for keeping themselves informed on the rules of play as they have been enforced in the past.  Remember that although we are not technically a sanctioned league, we must conduct ourselves as we would regardless of the circumstances.  If a rule is broken or the guidelines for innings pitched or substitutions are not followed correctly, it is within the full right of the opposition coach to make a claim to the rule book we are following.

Let us all remember that the rules are in place for player safety and fair play.  It is expected that all coaches adhere to these rules and respect all parties (opposition coaches, umpires, players) and handle disputed circumstances amicably.

Please inform and remind your players of important rules to be followed, and let us especially emphasize the theme of sportsmanship.
